Mobile farming in New York City“What if we run out of food?”

That’s what a pair of New York City farmers (isn’t that an oxymoron?) hopes to raise awareness of with their farms on trucks, outfitted with “root barriers, erosion blankets, drainage mats and cups that are reserved for green roofs”, that canvass the streets of New York. On the other hand, if you like your vegetables less travelled, then live next to an urban underground farm in Tokyo.

Ecology takes a seat in the toilet with the LooWatt… a toilet bowl made from horse manure that’s supposed to turn your waste products into energy for cooking. Kind of fitting isn’t it? And if you need music, here are several ideas: an electric guitar shirt where you can play guitar riffs on your shirt; and get your bathroom walls singing with the Tunebug.

In other stuff…

In space no one can hear you scream about tasteless gunk in a toothpaste tube. And need something cooled in a jiffy? Do it with a microwave oven. Lastly, 2010 is the year of biodiversity, check out how we could look to nature for engineering inspiration.
